Cast Updates

Hey all, in case you didn't hear: Meghan Ory has been upgraded to full time cast member, so we'll be seeing more of Red come season 2!!

And so is Emilie de Ravin!

thank goodness...i hated that she wasn't a main yet Jimminy stupid cricket was!

Wow...right off the bat and we add 2 new characters to this show! :roll:

For Anastasia, I'm wondering if they're 'connecting' to the Russian Czar's daughter for this character?

Otherwise, Magnolia will be interesting-I've not heard of her before. Will we have both a Mulan AND a Magnolia?-or, is Magnolia going to represent 'Disney's Mulan'?

I hope they still give enough time in 2.01 to cover MOST of the effects of 'magic is coming' from the season 1 finale...

I'll be curious to see if her character becomes a 'game changer' in the 'relationship mixes' we'll have going on this next season.

I'm glad, as well, she'll have more screen presence...I like her!(in spite of her 'split personality' :lol!: )

Just saw the spoiler about the cast...Anastasia and Magnolia which sounds like Mulan/Pocahontas!!! So happy !! I think I was one of the first (if not the first) ones to metion Anastasia back in abc page! To whoever told me that Anastasia/Pocahontas and Mulan couldn't be integrated in the show cause they were not fairytales..well...take that!! haha =D

I would never have thought of Anastasia, to be honest. They're even mentioning Goldilocks!!! They're not leaving ANY stone unturned when it comes to options here for this show! :lol!:

I guess this Magnolia may be the 'Mulan' character...I wonder if there are 'naming rights' involved as to why they went with Magnolia for the name instead?

i never saw Mulan and am not familiar with Anastasia...However I did say Pocahontas wasn't a fairy tale...and I still stand behind that. She was a real person and I learned about her in history...so if they pull in Pocohontas as a character...well I will be surprised is all...

@rer I know you said Pocahontas wasn't a fairytale. But there was someone else(which i do not remember the name -_-, but i know it wasn't you) who said it was impossible to be integrated in the show 8(. I wasn't saying that to you, sorry if it sounded that way. Im just really happy to see Anastasia =D not only because I loved her story, but if they are integrating this kind of stories in the show, it means we/they have a lot more characters too add and choose for the show which doesn't necessarily have to be fairytale-like :)

@eclectic About the name, I think that's part of the mystery. We see they decide names that have something to do or identify the char. Like August,Regina,Mary Margaret, Ruby, Mr.Gold etc. Maybe Magnolia is her SB name but back in FTL was Mulan or Pocahontas.who knows xD.

i think i remember that conversation. the person was saying that is why they didn't add in Robiin Hood...since he is supposedly a historical person as well...i disagree as I think there is enough myth around robin hood and maybe the 'legend' was based on a real person kind of like Santa Claus is...who knows though i didn't grow up in England so I don't know what they learn...I just don't think they will make Pocahontas a character born in FTL since she was DEFINITELY born in the US...or what is the US now. But i think Robin Hood and Arthur are good character candidates...

Pocahontas might be interesting. They have the 10 - 12 year old historical figure or the 17 - 18 ish Disney character to choose from. Disney changed her story so much it could be a fairy tale...

Both Arthur and Robin Hood are based in ballads, which are usually based on real events/people. However, Minstrels would change people and place names in the poems/songs in order for the local audience to relate better to the story (or to not get their heads chopped off), so I'm voting these two are definitely characters more than historical.

Horowitz just announced Emilie de Ravin is going to be a regular cast member!!

Maybe they could combine her with Tigerlily from Peter Pan!

haha yeah!...its weird i know that i wouldn't be upset seeing Robin Hood or Arthur as characters but Pocahontas would bother me!...but if they just made a 'new' character or blended a character I think that would be cool!

I read the description about Magnolia and to me it sounds like a blend of Mulan and Pocahontas. If this is true, then this Magnolia could be kinda awesome haha xD. About Arthur, I would like to see Charming being Arthur or having things in common with him, just like we saw with the sword, lady in the lake, round table, like a blend. But i would totally want to see Merlin, not as a blend, but as a new character/person/actor. I don't know if im explaining myself correctly hahaha

YAH! More of Red and Belle! That just means there are going to be some GREAT storylines this season!!!

You all probably know by now but Emile de Ravin is now a series regular. I am so excited to see more Rumble and Belle storylines. Meghan Ory is now a regular, too. I think that Eion Bailey is also considered a regular, correct? Now all we need is for Sebastian Stan to become a regular. And the writers keep bring the Huntsman back, I will be happy. I would not need any other regulars after that. But there is so many characters to explore. If more cool characters are introduced, the cast of regulars could get pretty big. I alson think that whoever eventually plays the adult Bae will become a series regular.
