Blue Fairy
The Blue Fairy knows a great deal about magic. She is a tough and strict fairy when it comes to the rules of magic. She is always willing to offer help to those who need it but has gotten in the way of peoples happiness if she believes thats whats right. She inadvertently revealed to Rumpelstiltskin that a horrible curse would enable him to travel to the world his son, Bae, had gone to.
She is very tiny (no more than 6 inches in height), although like Nova she can probably increase her size when she needs to. She has sparkly blue wings that allow her to fly. Her hair is brown, arranged in an elaborate up-do. She wears an ornately-decorated, blue dress of shimmery fabric, covered with appliques of pink, blue, and white roses. She has what seems to be a luminous blue ray and glowing white orbs emitting from the outside of her body.

Okay, I just been wondering the Blue Fairy have been around for many centuries like Rumple right? But I am wondering have she always been a fairy or was she once human who got turn into a fairy for a reason like her true love or something was taken away from her and that the reason she told Rumple about the curse in the first place????? But whatever the reason is I really want to know why she did that in the first place of telling Rumple about the curse.

WOW Playarita thats some interesting stuff you found out. I really hope they explore the Blue Fairys story because I have long beleived that she is not the good she portrays.

Whether or not she is evil and i believe she is. She is definitely a manipulator. She has her own agenda and I'm dying to find out what it is.

To be honest her alias had been on my mind recently. I decided to research her alias and found some information that definitely made me want to ponder a bit more about it.

Only the word "g(h)orm" is a gaelic word meaning blue. I could not find any information on the word reul (looked up in dictionary lists, translations--search fairy, fae, spirit etc)

Reul is an anagram and two words emerge from it: lure and rule.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This site has good insight on the meaning of blue in both positive (Content, Idealistic, Patient, Creative, Peaceful, Truthful) and negative (Negative: Smug, Dogmatic, Fanatic, Rigid, Negative, Critical) vibrations (if that is the right word).

I thought it was interesting to note that some blue stars that are found in
constellations are found in Orion and Ophiuchus. What I especially like
about the constellation Ophiuchus is that it means serpent-bearer and it
is one of the constellations that is considered the 13th constellation
in the zodiac or some believe hidden or lost.

I believe that might be some insight to her nature. She lures people into accepting her help because she recognizes their desperateness. In this she rules over them (maybe in the form of stipulations) as magic always come with a price.

Adding to that train of thought when I think about the constellation Ophiuchus I thought it interesting that it meant serpent-bearer. I felt as if that is a small little glimpse further into who the blue fairy is, and what she is about. I am really starting to lean towards the belief that she created (or is the bearer) of Rumpelstiltskin's curse (more than likely created it) and Cora's magic.

Going further if fairies like Nova were cursed then who cursed them? If it was the blue fairy then would that mean fairies like Nova were spirited away and replaced by fairies? Who then were these fairies and why would the Blue Fairy want to switch them? I cannot help but wonder if the price of the Blue Fairy's power (or her wanting to have that much power, and rule) was that her offspring would be far and between and something inherently wrong/defective with them that she would have to change them with human babies and curse them into being fairies?

Ok after reading the article about blue fairy Keegan did (posted on eclectics thread). I'm convinced that she had something to do with the original dark one being cursed. Either that or she had some reason for wanting Rump to make that curse and send everyone to our world.

ANd I dislike her even more now(I know didn't think it was possible) for keeping Grumpy and Nova apart.

This last lie seems the worst of all. Why did BF want the Dark Curse to come into being? She didn't need it to get to our world....
Maybe she's not evil in the sense Regina is evil, but to me this makes her definitely not good.

Also, why was she rationing fairy dust? Why wasn't she called a fairy by Morraine?
I'm beginning to think somehow she "created" fairies (and possibly enslaved the dwarves too) for her own reasons. I think Lazey may be onto something with the "Fairy curse".
I'm also beginning to think the magical things (beans, trees, dust) aren't running out - she's hoarding them.
Morraine did say she was the oldest and darkest magic.

was just watching rump scenes and had the thought that maybe the BF is the one that cursed the original dark one. I got the idea when she was talking to bae about going to a land without magic and escaping the dark curse rump is under. I don't know what made me think that but I wouldn't put anything past that evil wench. lol

Keegan Connor Tracy (Who plays the BF/Mother Superior) is chatting on twitter. I asked her if being a fairy is a curse and got back "I wish I knew!" Can't expect much more than that lol but my first celebrity tweet.

Maybe I would like the blue Fairy more if she didn't do those swimming motions.

The fairy outfits are terrible, Ella's fairy godmother was the only one that didn't look stupid and she got blown up. Maybe you get a better wardrobe when you're a godmother and that's why Nova wanted to be one.

True Love's Kiss is supposed to cure any curse, like it would've turned Rumple human and stripped him of his powers if Belle continued to kiss him. If Nova fell in love with Dreamy and they had True Love's Kiss she would have lost her wings and not been a fairy anymore- sounds like being cured from a curse.

I wonder where fairies come from, there aren't any male fairies that we've seen, or maybe they would be elves, but since they're not supposed to fall in love I'm guessing they hatch from eggs too. Reminds me of "The Fairy Rebel" by Lynne Reid Banks where the tyrant Queen of the fairies made baby fairies with her magic and slipped the eggs into their nests as they slept.

I don't know if the Blue Fairy is evil, though fairies are capable of evil (remember the dust from a dark fairy Snow had in "Snow Falls"?) but the Blue Fairy does not understand human-or human-like- emotions like love (She really expected Geppetto to not send Pinocchio through the wardrobe?!). She can appreciate what True Love creates (ie the curse-breaking Emma) but does not seem to be a believer in it. How she forced Dreamy to break up with Nova was cruel, there are plenty of dwarfs and fairies, surely losing a pair of them to love would not be a great tragedy. Unless BF was thinking allowing one fairy to fall in love would start the rest of the fairies thinking about falling in love, wanting to live lives of their own and not following the BF. It was a control thing.

I have a feeling the BF has been manipulating people as much as Rumple. She's been around even longer than he has, is supposedly more powerful. She's had to have known Rumple would eventually get his way and use the Dark Curse but never told anyone, right up until the pilot and probably still everyone thinks that Regina is the one behind the Dark Curse, even Maleficent did not know where the Dark Curse came from. Makes me wonder if the BF wanted the Dark Curse to happen, she gave Rumple the idea in the first place and she recovered very fast when the Dark Curse was broken, even managed a snarky comment to Regina.

Like your theories on this...I, too, hope to sit down and do a 're-watch' marathon of OUAT. I'm waiting for the 'official' discs to come out as I'm curious as to what we DIDNT see in the deleted scenes we know should be included! (i.e. the photo we've seen of August and Jefferson talking to one another at Jeff's place) I think some key info will also come out with this...

I did feel, like you mentioned, what's the big difference in the 'fairy realm' if you lose one with so many others out there? Especially when they show Nova as not being the 'best/most proficient' at her duties.

IDC I think she is an evil B**** Evil or Very Mad for messing up Nova and Dreamy's HEA. She should learn to mind her own business. Look what she did with Bae. Rump lost him and turned to making a curse that got them all stuck in OW, just to try and get him back. She should stick to turning little wooden toys into real boys and stay the hell out of everyones lives.!!!!!!! :x :lol!:

I know what you mean and I agree with you, that's not really a good way to think, but it doesn't mean she's evil. However, I still have my doubts.

haha...i do recall saying once something like 'out of all the people we have seen I think she is the one person who thinks 'what is best for everyone' rather than selfish motives...or it was something like that...that her thoughts are more the 'means justify the cause'...haha i will laugh if i am right...haha Wiley...

Although I don't think that is necessarily a good way to think...but it doesn't necessarily make her evil either!
